About Me

Living His walk….in my own shoes. I was born to live, and I don’t live a lie nor of His love am I shy.

Lo desconocido es un reto y no me asusto por completo. Naci para vivir y no vivo para fingir.

My name is also the symbol for many Christian faiths: Cruz. It is a simple 4 letter word with lots of letters following it due to my last names: Cruz Berumen-Flores. I am 30 years old, and enjoy learning from life. I live in a cozy small town, L.B., California. I love to learn. My favorite animal is the butterfly. I connect it with beauty, delicacy, change, transformation, adventure, uniqueness, and exploration. It reminds me of the human species.

I love to learn.

Did I already mention that I love to learn? I began my education career on the Fall of 2005. I will graduate from CSU Stanislaus in May 2009 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies, a concentration in Physics and Physical Science, and three Introductory Authorizations in English, Social Studies, and Science.

My greatest passion is GOD! I have a passion for worship. I love to sit behind my keyboard and just let my fingers and “graspy’ voice rock my heart out for God. Yeah, even if my roommates [my family] gets annoyed. That’s okay because my audience is pleased.  I go to Oasis Community Center.  I have great loving Pastors.  They are my mentors and friends.  I am part of a great group of women (TLC4Women) that inspire me to live closer to God.  Ever since I was little, I wanted to worship the Lord.  I would daydream of leading worship.  My voice was never up for such position.  But, how wonderful is God’s grace.  I lead worship in our midweek Spanish service, and 3 times a month when we play live music at out church!  I have to say that it was and still is a challenge.  But, fear and intimidation are only faux enemies.  I hide behind no one, except Jesus.  So when I get to stand before His people, I try to do what I do in private….WORSHIP with ALL my heart!  I love you my Lord!

I got married the end of my junior year in high school. And, no, I was not pregnant. I kept myself for marriage (17.5 years to be exact). But that is another blog all together. I have an incredible husband! He is most definitely not perfect but, he has a beautiful heart and love’s me soooo much. We have not had any “biological” children. YET! I say this because we have a little one that is not our daughter, but we love her as if she was. She is not only emotionally, but physically attached. Her name is Deborah M.O. “Princess” (she added the Princess part). She is 3 years old, and incredibly cute. Something weird happened when she was born. The very first day our eyes met, we captivated each other’s hearts. I believe it is it divinely ordained that we be part of each other’s lives. She brings many happy moments (and some not so great, like when she’s peed through all four clean blankets or the recurring tantrums she throws when she does not get to spend the night with us). She is my youngest sister’s daughter. She is the apple of my husband’s eyes.

Family is important for me. I talk weekly (if not daily) to my two sisters, my parents, my bella niece (Betty), and my other niece and nephew (Kim and Moses). I am deeply rooted to my Mexican culture. When I have kids, they will NOT be robbed of the richness of the Mexican-American traditions.

I have many good friends in life. One of these friends, I have kept in a deep and frequent relationship. Even though now she lives 2.5 hrs away, we still manages our lives to catch up and just love what the Lord has done in us. I met her in junior high. One of my best friends lives with us right now. She is from the beautiful port of Acapulco, Mexico. She has been a great blessing in my life. We have gone through thick and thin, and love each other like sisters. And yes, we fight like it too. But make up soon.
